Hiking

Stevenson's Path
The Stevenson path is the name given to the GR 70 long-distance hiking trail, in reference to the 272 km route taken through the Cévennes, in the company of his donkey Modestine by the Scottish writer Robert Louis Stevenson in the fall of 1878.

Many variations dot the route, including the GR67 which passes near the Mas Lauriol located on the last stage of the route.

The 4000 Steps

Departing from Valleraugue, the 4000-step path (for good walkers) allows you to climb the 1220 meters that lead to the summit of Mont Aigoual at 1565 m, in the emblematic landscapes of the Cévennes.

Huge hiking potential

From the limestone hills on the southern edge of the Cévennes (Ganges; St Hippolyte du Fort, Durfort, Anduze, ...) to Mont Lozère, from the foothills in the east to Mont Aigoual and the high plateaus of Causses and Larzac towards the West, the Cévennes offer an infinite number of landscapes to explore thanks to a particularly varied network of hiking trails, exploiting in particular the old sheep trails.
